Education
One of the hallmarks of the University’s unique medical education is its emphasis on the practical approach to teaching so as to prepare future doctors and health-care specialists for their chosen medical professions in the best possible way.
Students of all the programs offered by our University gain knowledge and experience while completing clinical rotations in different hospital wards, including internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery, family medicine, forensic medicine and more. Small groups of 5-6 students facilitate communication with the doctor-tutor as well as patients, allowing students to gain invaluable hands-on experience in working with patients, their families and other members of the care team. Students learn how to conduct interviews with patients, perform basic procedures, and also assist in surgeries. Our students develop and refine their clinical reasoning skills during seminars, where they get the opportunity to discuss cases and receive feedback.

Our students practice their skills in the University simulation labs as well as by patients’ bedsides. Programs’ curricula are designed in such a way so as to prepare the students for the role of leaders in their professional fields. Medical students get an opportunity to learn about health-care systems in a country of their preference by dedicating one semester to elective clinical rotations at PUMS or in any teaching hospital abroad. Dentistry students can actively participate in patient treatment in the University-run Dental Outpatient Clinic, which engages them early on in direct patient care.
